Hello everyone!
Thank you for all of your thoughts and prayers over the past few days! Today they were answered when we brought our precious baby Luke home.
I went into labor late on Friday night, and ended up going to the hospital at about 6:30am on Saturday. He was born at 2:16 that afternoon, and everyone (especially me) was shocked that he was absolutely enormous! He was the longest baby that my doctor and nurse had delivered, and he whole nursing staff was amazed that I had delivered such a large baby naturally and without any drugs. It was a wonderful thing that I went into labor though because the hospital was so busy on Saturday that they had rescheduled all of the inductions for that day (mine would have been at 4:30 that afternoon).
We had been scheduled to take him home on Sunday, but some of the nurses noticed he was having some stresssful breathing, and wanted to keep him an extra day. Because I was fine they discharged me, but actually let me stay in what they call a "nesting" room so I wouldn't have to go home without him. That was definitely an answered prayer because of course I wanted to stay with my precious newborn son! So today after his last round of antibiotics we packed up and headed home!
Here are some pictures of our beautiful new baby boy and this is the link to the hospital's website where you can see his hospital picture.
